Creating a more natural camping experience for our children in God's book of nature!
The Challenge
Our world has changed greatly since 1940 when Camp MiVoden was started.
- Sleeping capacity has not changed in 30 years, yet conference membership has doubled. Groups are often turned away because of scheduling conflicts.
- Counselors sleep in cabin hallways to meet today's supervision guidelines.
- Campers who come to experience God's nature, literally live on top of each other while most of the property is undeveloped.
The Plan
Raise $1 million to fund the first phase of the camp's master plan to begin using the new property.
- Construct eight new duplex cabins a total of 16 units designed for best interaction and supervision
- Construct a new wastewater system and infrastructure to handle the expanded capacity
Camp MiVoden wants to conduct kids camps and serve the needs of church groups simultaneously, during peak times, to meet the needs of our constituency. New cabins begin the process.
Why does it matter?
When Jesus speaks to a heart at MiVoden, people listen. Lifelong decisions for Christ originate there. Each summer over 80 young adults mentor children and practice leadership skills.
