Yes, God works miracles! Adventist education kept me in the church. While many Hispanic friends dropped out of school, my church school drew me closer. Jesus had a special plan for my life and I wanted it!
With my pastor’s voice ringing in my ears, I repeated, “With God’s help, you can do it.” All through the years, my church family encircled me.
I still get teary-eyed, when I think of the sacrifices people made so that I could have an Adventist education. I’m a nurse because of them. Now, I can send my children to church school too!
Sure it is difficult. Working nights, carpooling, and trying to keep the bills paid! But it’s worth it.
Why? In my family, I’m the only child to go all through Adventist education and I’m the only one still in the church. I want my children to stay in the church, too, and be close to Jesus.
